With March nearing to a close, this month is truly ending with a bang; From Pamela Anderson becoming our style inspiration as the face for Missguided, Model Cara Delevigne making her return to the modelling industry in Saint Laurents new campaign alongside Jane Birkin and Joni Mitchell, to that instagram shot of model Emily Ratajkowski and Kim Kardashian doing it for the women and simply sticking there vickies up to the haters; 'we are more than just our bodies, but that doesn't mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality #liberated'. With so much happening and plenty more to come this April it is time to talk fashion; we have chosen our top 2 favourite trends that you need to be on - Tropics and Silk are the new go to's.
Tropical patterns have made it on our #list - From haute-Hawaiian prints to garden-inspired patterns and jewellery, spring 2016 brings a bold and bright tropical palette with a serious dose of holiday mode. When you take a trip, let your look read "off-duty": clashing colors, oversized floral earrings and skin showing; we suggest Rita Ora x Adidas collection - tropical track pants have never looked better. For the days when you're "on duty" pair a flashy piece back with a pair of wide leg pants ( for the best fit we can't get enough of Weekday clothing) and a tailored duster coat, and streamlined accessories, for a polished look—at least until Happy Hour. Repping' the tropical prints is our male model Jerome from his segment in Young Leo Mag, a French Mag that here at IMM we can't get enough of!
Fashion Week style inspiration, a runway that is noticeably under the radar in comparison to Paris and London- Tokyo Fashion Week, however all eyes were definitely on the street style in Japan's capital. Fashion week saw a bevy of local and international faces descend on the city, strutting their stuff in their finest attire, of course. Tokyo's streets pitches the embroidered, silky souvenir jacket as the headline piece this season - Our second favourite trend to go into April with is a vintage bomber jacket. These lightweight styles were originally commissioned by American soldiers, returning home after World War II, complete with decorative scenes of Japan. It may only be the beginning of Spring, but that didn't stop street style stars from enjoying springtime embellishment. The best place to get an original piece is Shimokitazawa ( Tokyo's Vintage District) or take a splurge on a Gucci or Saint Laurent; Or take inspiration from our curve model Dani R, who rocks her silk bomber in the streets of Florence.
