It's a Thursday, so why not celebrate with a throwback post, we are talking petites, campaigns and VS! Ten minutes with Anne makes you never want to give up on your dreams, check out our interview with the ever evolving petite model and see her latest shots with London photographer Luc Coiffait.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your background,
My Name is Anne and I was born in Germany but currently living in London! I acquired a traineeship in Germany a few years ago but my love for travel saw me quick to fly across the other side of the world to begin a journey through Australia, Indonesia, a few other parts of Asia, America and Canada. Since my travels I now live with the love of my life in central London which has kickstarted my career as a “petite” model.
Do you think that your height has helped your modelling career, or made it more difficult?
I always wanted to model, but I never believed in myself because of my height. Through my travels and meeting new people I’ve learned so much about life and that everything is possible. If it wasn’t for the support of my family, friends and especially my partner I wouldn’t be where I am now. I am very thankful and blessed to have them. I came to London and started working with you guys (yay!)
IMM agency. I started from scratch here and became privileged to quickly be given the amazing opportunity to work with universally recognised brands such as
Asos,
New Look, M&S and other brands within a few months! You need to fight for your dreams and I am very sure petite models get more and more attention every day. Many brands have or are beginning to launch petite ranges and that’s so awesome! I’m dreaming of walking for a
Victoria Secret petite show one day haha who knows… You just need to believe in yourself.
hat is your favourite style trend this winter?
My favourite style this winter is definitely over knee high boots ( from
Steve Madden ) and a thick cosy turtle-neck sweater worn as a dress, with an oversized Coat and a hat or beanie , matched with a little handbag and you’re ready to go.
Have you got any style tips for more petite girls, to help them dress for their size?
It always depends on the proportion of the body I guess, but I think there’s nothing what we can’t wear as petites. I always love to wear boots with a little heel just to feel a bit taller! But everything you want to wear – wear it and rock it ! Be confident with your size!
What has been the highlight of your modelling career so far?
My highlight so far was definitely working for
Asos! I’ve been shopping on their site for years – and all of a sudden that model on the screen representing the brand became a reality for me! Most amazing feeling to see myself on there.
Do you have any advice for other petite girls that would like to get in to modelling?
Never give up on yourself, try hard, do a lot of test shoots, be yourself and natural, apply to agencies, study the model industry and keep teaching things to yourself , (watch other models going their way and learn!), travel, explore and be healthy!
